OVER THE YEARS, many people have asked how I tune my twelve-string guitar ("How do you get that deep sound?"). Recently, even more have been enquiring about the string gauges I use.

Hopefully, this table will kill both birds with one stone. Trouble is, you won't find a C-tuning set available over the counter; you'll have to customise it, but I promise you that tuning your twelve-string down to "C" with these gauges is quite safe. You won't bow your neck!

Anyway, here's "Big Twelve's" tuning:
