Introduced... 2001 (Custom Series) - originally a Limited Edition of only twelve units, later increased to twenty-four (made to order)
  Custom Shop manufacture continued however, the guitar subsequently being known as the "Apache Special"

Body Swamp Ash or Alder 
Neck Pearl-bound neck, of Ebony-capped top-grade Maple (Rosewood-capped on the "Apache Special")
Headstock Scroll - the badge is engraved with the head of an Apache chief
Colours/Finish White, Green Sunburst, Daphne Blue
Scratchplate 3-piece; Pearloid
Pickups 3 x hand-wound Jim Cairnes Rez-o-Matic (slanted)
Controls 1 x Volume, 2 x Tone, five-way Pickup Selector
Bridge/Tailpiece/Tremolo Rezo-tube unit, also engraved with the head of an Apache chief; as is the tremolo arm which has a diamond set into the handle

  NOTES: the Apache was created in 2001 to celebrate the launch of Per Gjörde's book "Pearls and Crazy Diamonds" which chronicles the history of Burns Guitars

The serial no. plate on the back of the guitar is also engraved with the Apache emblem
