FIRST THINGS FIRST: these are NOT Dandelion re-issues.
Everything on this page has been recorded and released since the artists’
time with the Dandelion label.
Everything is currently available either online, at gigs, or through
old-style traditional outlets.
IF YOU’D LIKE TO ADD an item to “FRESH DANDELIONS!”, just

take care of the rest. Any problems, e-mail me; any
questions, answers, or thoughts along the way, please feel free to share them
with the world on the Dandelion
Records Forum.
FINALLY, remember the immortal words of Eric Robson on BBC Radio
4’s “Gardeners Question Time” -
“No matter how you try, you can’t get rid of Dandelions!”.
How true...
Here they are - the FDs!
BURNIN’
RED IVANHOE - "Lack Of Light" (PolyGram BRIO 98) Eleven tracks, many of which capture the highly atmospheric and
unusual combination of harmonica, panflute, clarinet, alto and (NB) soprano
saxophones, keyboard, bass etc. It is Karsten Vogel's soprano sax that really
gets to me! Best track is "Surrounded With Money" or maybe "Stringberg's Car".
The first couple of tracks are a bit too euro-rock rather than jazz-rock. But
highly recommended. They are still gigging and have this and other albums
available through a particularly friendly (and cheap) supplier - who will
include incense stick in the pack: Tomrer Claus, Karma Music, Holmegaardsvej
3, DK 8270 Hojberg, Denmark.
BURNIN’ RED IVANHOE - "Shorts" (Unknown Label)
Released in 1980, my friendly supplier's website describes it as ’long instrumental passages... played with high energy and... enthusiasm’. A double CD with twenty tracks with most of the
original BRI lineup.
Karsten Vogel of BURNIN’ RED IVANHOE - "Nordic Frames" (DCC 9418)
Ten tracks, 49:33 minutes, recorded 1992-93, ‘supported by Danish Composers Guild and Gramex through Danish Musiker Forbund’. I've not heard this one yet... probably jazz
Karsten Vogel of BURNIN’ RED IVANHOE - "Light When Dark" (Unknown Label)
Largely solo pieces recorded in caves (Nolstoy and Hestar) in the Faroe Islands in May 2000. Downloads contain waves, Karsten on sax, and the most extraordinary natural reverb! Apparently trawlermen can take you in there but only under certain sea conditions, and more than a few musos make the trip. Price $15.99 - for the album that is, not the ticket for the boat...

An excellent DVD with electric and acoustic guitar work from Jim and fantastic drumming from Steve.
TRACTOR / THE WAY WE
LIVE - "Original Masters" (OZIT-Morpheus OZITCD 0128) 14 tracks, including the original 8 songs with which Tractor / The Way
We Live got their deal with Dandelion. Mastered here from the original bedroom

TRACTOR - "Worst

best.

TRACTOR - "Before,
During And After The Dandelion Years, Through To Deeply Vale And Beyond"

star rating in `Q' Magazine. Spanning the full history of Tractor, the music
moves effortlessly from the hauntingly plaintive to the wildly experimental. A
`must' for all Tractor fans.

TRACTOR - "Steve's
Hungarian Novel" (OZIT LP 8004 - 2 LP set) A beautiful 2 LP
set with gatefold sleeve. Outer sleeve by German artist Ciruleo. Named after
Steve Clayton's book, which is based in Hungary. This is an album of rare
tracks from both 'Way We Live' and 'Tractor' periods with a lot of material
previously unreleased. Tracks from 1968-1972, but with a few classic
up-to-date tracks. There are also rare photos adorning the inner sleeve, and
some copies are hand signed on the inner sleeve by Jim and Steve. Received
great reviews in a lot of music publications (particularly in the USA). Many
reviewers said how great to have a new gatefold LP from Tractor/Way We Live as
it's easier to skin up on a 12" sleeve whilst listening to the album!!!!
TRACTOR - "Average
Mans Hero" (OZIT Morpheus Roach RR2) 7" vinyl single with
picture sleeve. A classic Tractor single. Simple but staggeringly powerful.
TRACTOR - "John Peel Bought Us Studio Gear And A P.A." (OZIT Morpheus OZIT CD215) Released on John Peel Day 2006 in a special hand numbered box with a set of eight postcards and a twenty page CD booklet about John Peel’s links with Rochdale and Tractor.
