This brand new collection of songs, “Damascus Road”, is being released fifty years to the day after the completion of my first recordings for John Peel’s Dandelion label on the 18th April, 1969.

I guess I've been truly fortunate down the years in never having been plagued by ‘writer’s block’; chiefly because there's always been a (literally!) never-ending supply of topics to write about! They're being thrown down like a gauntlet every day in the newspapers, on TV, even in casual conversations I hear on the street.

So, included in the thirteen tracks of “Damascus Road” we have new songs about demagoguery, diplomacy, the casting couch, Masonic influence, and a host of other topics that have attracted my attention over the last few months.

Available as always from download sites around the world (including of course iTunes and the Amazons), “Damascus Road” is also streaming on Spotify, Deezer and all your other favourite streaming services. I hope you enjoy it!

Speaking of demagoguery, this is “Demagogue Rules” – Cherry Red’s official video from the set.

One small point; the cover image at the end differs from the “normal” sleeve. This is because very late in the day, and due to cultural sensitivities (particularly relating to the Middle East), the original cover was flagged as unsuitable by the powers that be. Understandable, I guess, but sadly too late to change the video which had long been published. Hope that's all clear...

So, enjoy “Demagogue Rules”...

Some reviewers’ thoughts on earlier Beau digital releases from Cherry Red:

Of ‘Rattle The Asylum Bars’ (2018)
“(Beau) grinds his axes with such bright bonhomie that he not only peoples his songs with character, he inhabits them, too ... in times like these, it becomes more than a moral duty to listen to an artist speak his mind. It becomes a pleasure.” Goldmine (USA)

Of ‘When Butterflies Scream’ (2017)
“Beau has the wonderful … ability to musically versify what is in the English psyche.” Brian R. Banks – It’s Psychedelic Baby (Slovenia)

Of ‘An Original Thought’ (2016)
“…a terrific batch of folk songs that would make Phil Ochs or even Robert Zimmerman proud … this guy is way too talented to be so unknown … maybe his time will come now.” Dagger Zine (USA)
