Forty-seven years on from my first release on Dandelion, Cherry Red Records celebrate my 70th birthday with “An Original Thought”, a brand new thirteen-song album for download and streaming.

Written in just two weeks, in what was undoubtedly my most intense writing phase ever (even going back to my twenties!), “An Original Thought” includes songs about patriotism, invention, modern-day surveillance, showbiz comebacks and a lifeboat disaster. And that’s just for starters!

The album cover features my vintage, ever-present Harmony twelve-string guitar, photographed in 2014 by Rocker Rosehip of Dandelion Radio fame.

“An Original Thought” (Cherry Red BEAUAOT1) is available from download sites around the world, including of course iTunes and the Amazons.

And do please feel free to rate and review the album. It really does make a difference!

Some reviewers’ thoughts on the last Beau digital release, 2015’s “Shoeless In The Desert”:

“Beau’s songs have this ability to open debate and claw away what others prefer to cloak or veil … he is a Tom Paine or William Cobbett with a 12-string … It is the sheer breadth of diversity of themes that anchor the listening experience.”
Brian R Banks – Caught In The Act

“Trevor Midgley (aka Beau) writes wickedly sharp lyrics that never fail to make their point… This nation is blessed with singer songwriters of considerable calibre, and Midgley belongs to those ranks…”
Tim Carroll –

“In our current sound-bite and shuffle era it’s encouraging to see long-form songwriting done so well. In a fairer world Beau would be a much valued cultural treasure, up alongside Dylan, Mitchell, Cohen and the like.”
